Food Whisperer UK Limited (referred to as “Food Whisperer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy and choices as a data subject.
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from https://www.foodwhisperer.co.uk/ (the “Site”) or on the Food Whisperer mobile app (Android/iOS) (the “App”).
We are committed to handling your personal data in compliance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (“EU GDPR”), the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act, 2018 (“UK GDPR”).
CONSENT
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, use our services, verify your preferences, place an order, complete a payment or process a refund, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only, as permitted under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR.
In instances where we gather other information available through accessing functionality provided by your phone, including but not limited to your location or Bluetooth connectivity, we will expressly ask for you to enable permissions on your device to provide access to said functionality.
We collect the following information to provide services:
(1) Name to identify you at the time of providing services,
(2) Email Address to deliver the e-receipt/e-bill of your online purchase,
(3) Mobile Number for payment processing on our partner payment gateways (PayPal and Stripe)
(4) Geo-Location use Google Maps APIs to display the closest food-courts, restaurant outlets, and for delivery of orders.
We may also use and analyse the information that we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. You may withdraw your consent any time by disabling app access to device functionalities or contacting us using the details below.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the Site or the App, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. The cookies are expressly to identify returning users, and no marketing or non-service-related information will be stored in cookies. Additionally, as you browse the Site or the App, we may collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred to the Site or the App, and information about how you interact with the Site or the App. We refer to this automatically collected information as “Device Information.”
We do not collect or track your location when the app or our services are not in use.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us optimize our services, as described above. For example, we use Google Maps APIs to help us identify your current location. Data retained may be used for optimizing vendor operations, such as menu engineering and analysis. DATA STORAGE
To ensure availability and disaster recovery, we securely back up data across regions. Data stored in the UK is backed up in secondary region, with all transfers encrypted and compliant with relevant data protection laws. Access controls and anonymization are applied where necessary to protect personal information.
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices as specified by ISO 27001:2022 guidelines to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
In the untoward event of a data breach, we will make every effort to inform you upon confirmation of such an event.
AGE OF CONSENT
By using our services, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

CHILDREN
The Services are not intended for or directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age through the Services. If we learn that we have collected information from children under 13, we will promptly take steps to delete such information.
